New OA book! Strengthening European Climate Policy

DOWNLOAD!

I am really happy to share our new open-access book gathering 10 Governance Recommendations from 10 novel Interdisciplinary Collaborations between the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, for strengthening European climate policy.

It is part of a three-volume collection covering climate, energy, and mobility policy produced within the project SSH-CENTRE, which aims at mainstreaming SSH contributions to the climate transition.

For over a year and a half, our BC3 team –Ester Galende Sánchez, Alevgul H. Sorman and myself – coordinated the book chapters development together with Sara Heidenreich, Christian A. Klöckner from NTNU. We launched a call for interdisciplinary teams who were to be first time collaborating. We reviewed applications and selected 10 teams to produce one policy recommendation each. We supported their chapter writting process and co-organised a symposium for the 3 book teams to come together and share their insights. Finally, we organised the review process to refine contributions, found relevant authors for the book foreword and afterwords (I personally love Irmelin Gram-Hanssen afterword) and wrote introduction and conclusions.

As my first book editorial experience, I can say it was an absolute pleasure to work with this team and to meet a huge number of scholars interested in interdisciplinarity for climate policy. Climate related topics in the book are quite diverse, whereas cross-cutting themes revolve around justice, ethics, participation and learning from the South in climate mitigation and adaptation. Hope you enjoy it!
